Abstract

The integration of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in healthcare systems has become a pivotal strategy to address the increasing complexity of patient care. By bringing together professionals from diverse domains such as medicine, nursing, social work, psychology, and administration, MDTs foster holistic decision-making and enhance patient outcomes. This paper explores the theoretical foundations, implementation practices, and challenges of MDTs in healthcare systems, with a special emphasis on Pakistan’s evolving healthcare framework. Furthermore, the study highlights the role of collaborative culture, communication, and technology in ensuring effective team integration. The analysis concludes that multidisciplinary team approaches are indispensable for achieving sustainable healthcare reforms and improving patient satisfaction globally and locally.
